About Megan

I have been an artist and writer for as long as I can remember. As a teenager, I would stay up late into the night, painting on canvases on my bedroom floor while taking breaks to fill my many journals with poetry and angsty existential reflections—the soulful tunes of Sade always playing in the background.

My degree in Community Studies from UC Santa Cruz was just as abstract as my artwork, and blindly led me to a career in education. As a preschool teacher, I fell in love with an educational approach from Italy that centered around art and collaboration. This reignited my passion for art and eventually steered me towards a career teaching children’s art and designing creative spaces for kids through my business, The Art Pantry.

In 2019, I suffered a near-fatal illness, spent 10 weeks in the hospital, and then spent a year recovering. I took this rebirth, of sorts, as an opportunity to expand on my creativity in new ways. I began painting again and soon translated my skills in interior design and online business into branding and website design. Over the past few years I have designed numerous brands and websites for entrepreneurs who are ready to take their business to the next level.

Through all this, I have continued writing and am beyond excited to have finished a memoir that has been years in the making. As I wrapped up this writing project, I realized that it is not separate from my design work or my art. My offering to this world is my creative work and the intuitive process that guides me.
